We would like to inform you that the TBU Library has been provided test access to all journals published by Sage (a renowned delivery platform), i.e. to more than 500 electronic journals, particularly focusing on management. The journals will be available until the end of February 2010, therefore, be quick to use the access. Available on: http://online.sagepub.com/

We would like to inform our users about the newly established ”Journal of Competitiveness” published by the TBU Faculty of Management and Economics and focusing on competitiveness and related topics. The journal is available to all users on the website: www.cjournal.cz

Since the beginning of 2010 the TBU Library has been provided access to several new databases such as the JSTOR full-text service (Collection I-IV), art databases “Art Full Text” and “Art Index”, to the most prestigious international psychological database “PsycInfo” and to the full-text source “SocIndex” focusing on social sciences. All the above-mentioned sources and more licensed databases are available here.

On 1st January 2010 a new website about Tomas Bata was launched, containing detailed information on Tomas Bata Sr., his biography, an extensive gallery of period photographs as well as references to other interesting sources and a bibliography of publications on Tomas Bata compiled by PhDr. Zdeněk Pokluda. The website will be regularly updated.

since 5th January 2010 books originating from the dissolved Specialist Library of the SPUR Company have been placed on the 4th floor of the TBU Library. The books are available to take away (free of charge).

The Library users have the opportunity to use a test access to the JSTOR Database, and that including the complete collections thereof. A registration form has to be completed in order to enter the database. The test access capacity available to TBU users involves 50 licences only – apply for your registration quickly! The test access is valid until 18th December 2009.

The Library has been provided test access to prestigious electronic journals – “Oxford Journals” – valid until the end of 2009 for the collections entitled Humanities and Social Sciences. The serials include articles back to 1996.

COS Funding Opportunities

is a platform involving 25 000 grant opportunities amounting to approximately USD 33,000,000,000.

ScholarUniverse
is a database containing information on researchers, e.g. contact or publications of the respective researcher. Thus, this database represents an ideal opportunity to find partners to cooperate with in your R&D projects.

Both resources are available here.

We'd like to invite all users of the Chemical Abstracts database (we have a license for this database and it's accessible from the University network) to a demonstration of a new platform of this database - SciFinder on the Web. It will take place at 15:30 on Thursday, 22nd October 2009, on the 4th floor of the library. Veli-Pekka Hyttinen, a representant of Chemical Abstracts Service for Central and Eastern Europe will be presenting in English. Please inform all of your colleagues who may be interested.

In connection with the film festival the U13 building will be closed 5.6.2009 since 15:00.

In compliance with Bursar’s Directive No. 2/2009 [181 KiB] (in Czech only), changes in the price for reprographic services provided at TBU will be introduced with effect from 1/4/2009. The price per single sided black & white copy in A4 format will be increased to CZK 1.2, and to CZK 2.40 per A3 format.

Library users are required to leave coats, cases, bags, backpacks etc. in the staffed cloakroom on the ground floor (Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm). Restrictions on coats and bags protect the security of the collections and are a condition of admission to Library premises.

Royal Society of Chemistry Database

We would like to inform the users that the Central Library has been provided access to a prestigious database collection within the Royal Society of Chemistry. This database is a very useful information resource in chemistry. The fulltext access also includes approximately 30 electronic journals.

Starting from 01/01/2007 the TBU Central Library has been provided access to the EconLit Database. It is the world's most prestigious database regarding economics and related fields - therefore an ideal information source for FaME students.

The TBU University Library has been granted test access to the LibraryPressDisplay service.

It is a large database containing newspaper articles and offering online access to more than 330 newspapers in 35 languages from 64 countries.

Take advantage of the possibility of complete access to this unique database.
The database is now accessible upon the IP address during 2 months, therefore no password is required.

The Central Library at the TBU in Zlin has bought the access to a collection of 26 electronic books published by the publishing house Wiley. The specialization of the titles involves in particular:

- technical literature
- chemistry and
- economics.

The access is unlimited in time and provided by means of an IP address.
