How to request Inter-Library Loan and International Inter-Library Loan Services

  • The inter-library loan service is available to all users of the TBU Library.
  • First log in as a registered User in the Library catalogue. Once you have successfully logged in, please click on the letters ILL in the menu in the upper right corner of this catalogue page. Thus, you have selected the relevant ILL form, which is implicitly set to an ILL Book request. If you seek an ILL Journal Request/Journal Article Request, please click on the relevant item - Journal Article/Journal - in the grey line (Book | Journal article/Journal) below the main upper menu of the Library catalogue.
  • Before sending an order, it is necessary to check on the TBU Library catalogue to find out whether the document is available in our Library or within our region. Otherwise, it will not be possible to fulfil the request for inter-library loan services.
  • The user submitting a request for the inter-library loan service is required to submit full bibliographic data.
  • The inter-library loan service is offered free of charge provided that a user submits five requests or less per one semester.
  • In the event that a user submits more than five requests per one semester, a fee is charged for the ILL service in accordance with the Price List included in the Library Rules.
  • For one uncollected item ILL/IILL is charged fee 50.00 CZK
  • If you have a query about ILL/IILL, please contact mvs (at) k.utb.cz

International Inter-Library Loan Service (IILL)

  • Users submit their requests for documents in the same manner as in ILL. First they have to log in as a registered User in the Library catalogue. Once they have successfully logged in, they must click on the letters ILL in the menu in the upper right corner of this catalogue page. Thus, they have selected the relevant ILL form, which is implicitly set to an ILL Book request. If they seek an ILL Journal Request/Journal Article Request, they must click on the relevant item - Journal Article/Journal - in the grey line (Book | Journal article/Journal) below the main upper menu of the Library catalogue. The only difference is that it is necessary to mention in the box Note that the service requested is IILL.
  • The international inter-library loan service (IILL) is a paid service; the fees are listed in the Price List included in the Library Rules.
  • No matter how many requests a user submits per one semester, every IILL service ordered has to be paid for.

Instructions on ILL/IILL

  • The orders are binding on the users.
  • If the user wants to cancel the submitted request for an ILL/IILL service, he/she is required to inform us by e-mail at mvs (at) k.utb.cz, and that within 3 working days of submitting the request.
  • In the event that the order is not cancelled and the user does not collect the required document, his/her future requests may not be accepted.
  • ILL/IILL documents awaiting collection are stored at the loan desk on the second floor. You will need your chip card when collecting your reserved item.
  • Only those users that have ordered the ILL/IILL documents can collect them.
  • When collecting the document, the reader has to sign a statement saying that he/she undertakes to return the borrowed document undamaged and within the set period.
  • The lending period is determined by the lending library. Overdue fines are imposed according to the price list of the lending library.
  • Readers receive all information about ILL/IILL by e-mail.
  • All requests for ILL/IILL services are dealt with without delay; we aim to quickly respond to the requests, nevertheless, the process depends on the lending library.

If you have a query about ILL/IILL, please contact mvs (at) k.utb.cz.
